The FearLess National Conversation on PTSD proves the positive impact events can have on a community, winning the Meetings & Events 2019 Queensland Cause Related Event of the Year and named as a finalist in the Charity or Cause Related Event category at the 2020 Australian Event Awards.
Brisbane event agency Nectar Creative Communications worked closely with FearLess to bring to life a vision created by a passionate and invested community dedicated to improving the lives of those living with or impacted by PTSD. The inaugural event held at The Events Centre, Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast broke new ground by bringing together a very disparate audience around this issue.
With clear objectives driving the program, marketing and community building from the outset, the event delivered the desired outcomes for stakeholders: a new community platform, united voice and source of hope for sufferers of PTSD, their families and the professionals who care for, research and treat this condition. FearLess Chair and Co-Founder Chris Barrie AC commented, “The success of the conference far exceeded all expectations: the Board of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – Australia and New Zealand, and the branded subsidiary, FearLess are delighted with the results”.
The FearLess National Conversation on PTSD 2019 was supported by event partners EY, University of the Sunshine Coast, The Sunshine Coast Mind & Neuroscience – The Thompson Institute, Business Events Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Council. This outcome-driven event was held to initiate a national conversation on PTSD, and to develop a community-owned and community-operated PTSD management protocol.
